Southwest Florida is one of the best destinations for tarpon fishing in the world. Our local waters offer prime habitat and forage for huge numbers of tarpon as they migrate along the coast. Famous locations like Boca Grande Pass, Caloosahatchee River and the barrier islands of Sanibel and Captiva offer incredible tarpon fishing!

Most tarpon range from 60lb to 120lb during the migration, but fish over 200lbs is possible on any trips! Tarpon features incredible acrobatic aerial displays and long, drag screaming runs. Depending on the season, we target tarpon with a variety of live or dead natural baits. Occasionally, we may use lures to target tarpon when conditions are right to do so.

Tarpon fishing is one of the most iconic and exciting adventures you can participate in while in Florida. Witnessing the massive schools of migrating tarpon jump, dance and daisy chain is a once in a lifetime experience.

Yes! Tarpon are large and exciting to catch. The whole family becomes part of the battle and it’s great for kids too.

Large predators migrate along with the massive tarpon schools. It’s common to see large bull sharks and even the possibility to see a great hammerhead shark!

Many types of bait work well for tarpon. They are opportunistic feeders, but small crabs and live bait fish are the most popular. Lure or fly fishing is also a possibility when conditions are right.

If possible, weekdays are best with less boat traffic and crowding. Weekends can be especially busy, but Capt. Andy will do his best to make a memorable day tarpon fish any day of the week!
